Overview

John Erskine has spent four decades counseling major property owners, development teams and coastal homeowner associations on compliance with State planning and zoning laws, California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the California Coastal Act. He has advised large development teams on the approval and defense of major urban infill multifamily projects, residential/retail mixed-use centers, mid-rise residential projects, oil field land use conversions and beach and bayfront coastal projects. John also represents coastal homeowner associations and residential and mixed-use waterfront developments before counties, cities and the California Coastal Commission.

John serves as co-chair of Nossaman's statewide coastal law practice. Prior to joining Nossaman as a partner in 1989, he served in several elected and appointed positions in local, County and State government.
