Amber Maltbie and Bill Powers presented “Nonprofit Rules of the Road for 2020 Election Activity” on November 5, 2019. During the presentation, Amber and Bill outlined how public charities can engage 2020 presidential and other candidates, what the current state of donor disclosure is at the federal and state level (and why that may still change between now and the elections), as well as how nonprofits can engage with ballot measure activity (and whether they need to register as a committee). They also included a special update on the California primaries, which will be held on March 3, 2020.
