Nossaman Consults Highlighted by Various News Outlets
The rollout of Nossaman Consults was highlighted in various news outlets, including Daily Journal, California’s leading legal newspaper. The Daily Journal article, titled “Nossaman Expands Services With Consulting Division Focused On Infrastructure, Pensions, And Government Relations“ (subscription required), stated Nossaman Consults allows the firm “to serve clients in a broader way than just legal services, backed by a strategic knowledge base that comes from representing hundreds of public agency and private clients.”
Commenting for the article, Geoff Yarema, chair of Nossaman Consults, said, “Essentially, Nossaman Consults is formalizing a characteristic that has been inherent to the firm during its 80-year history – clients have always asked us to leverage our expertise in ways that fell outside our traditional legal counsel role.”
Geoff, who is a founder of Nossaman’s Infrastructure Group, also said the Firm’s “Infrastructure, Pensions and Government Relations practices are national in scope, and we have a deep roster of clients in these areas that will enable us to best leverage Nossaman Consults in its early goings … The practice areas [for Nossaman Consults] were a natural starting point to launch consulting services, and the firm will consider adding other practice areas as Nossaman Consults grows.”
Ashley Dunning, co-chair of Nossaman’s Pensions, Benefits & Investments Group, also commented for the article. She said Nossaman Consults can help clients who don’t necessarily need a lawyer but can benefit from expertise that has been gathered by Group members over the course of their careers. “As people who work very much immersed in the industry and see the best practices, and practices where things haven’t gone quite as planned and desired, we come at this with a perspective that we hope provides additional value to clients and potential clients,” she added.
Fred Dombo, chair of Nossaman’s Government Relations & Regulation Group said clients often ask for help tackling problems outside the legal realm and that the “Consults arm offers these clients a chance to harness our experience on public policy or public sector dilemmas that do not involve rendering legal advice.”
Additionally, Law360 covered the rollout of Nossaman Consults in the article “Nossaman Law Firm Launches Consulting Arm” (subscription required). Speaking to Law360, Geoff said, “Clients have always sought us out for capabilities beyond standout legal talent … They have called upon us to help drive important management solutions, effective government decision making, timely and optimized regulatory outcomes and articulate cross-disciplinary strategies. Nossaman Consults facilitates exactly these kinds of results.”
