On November 21, 2024, Ashley Dunning co-presented with Stephen Sexauer, SDCERA Chief Investment Officer, at the SDCERA Board's continuing education workshop on the topic of "Making Long Term Pension Decisions Under Uncertainty".  This presentation included an in-depth discussion of the intersection between retirement boards' authority over actuarial funding and investment portfolio management of the retirement systems they govern, and their fiduciary responsibilities under California law as to both functions.
