Advising on the Acquisition of the East West Bank Building in San Francisco

We represented a foreign real estate fund, sponsored by an Asian investor, in the acquisition of the office building at 555 Montgomery Street in San Francisco.

The seller also wanted to lease back several floors for its San Francisco headquarters. We represented the buyer in negotiating the purchase and sale agreement and conducting the due diligence, as well as in the leaseback to the seller of several floors, including addressing signage rights. Additionally, the property contains a Gold Rush era registered historical building, the old mint which houses a permanent museum relating to the mint, that required protection and preservation.
