Achieving a Trial Victory for Clean Water Rights

After a challenging three-week federal court trial, we secured a $65 million jury verdict in favor of our public water agency client who had been involved in a 20-year legal battle with a polluter.

The underlying issue began in 2002, when it came to light that an ammunitions manufacturer had contaminated groundwater over several decades. The complicated matter involved state law, federal claims and a large volume of decades old documents. Having worked with three generations of management at the water agency, our familiarity with the underlying facts and opposing party provided key insight that allowed us to formulate a successful trial plan.
