Overview
Varand Nikolaian defends clients in all areas of employment law, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination actions. He also advises employers on all aspects of personnel relations, such as hiring practices, employment agreements, employee classifications, compensation, benefits, labor negotiations, reasonable accommodations, leaves of absence, lay-offs, disciplinary actions, terminations and discrimination, harassment and retaliation complaints filed with the California Civil Rights Department (formerly the Department of Fair Employment and Housing) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Varand’s experience also includes conducting personnel investigations, representing public entities in unfair labor practice proceedings before the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) and litigating complex construction claims brought against public entities.
