Overview
Scott Boyle represents policyholder clients who span a wide variety of industries, governmental entities and foreign sovereigns in disputes with insurance companies and sureties. He has experience navigating complex, multi-party and multi-insurer civil litigations and contesting denials and underpayments in connection with a wide variety of policies, including commercial general liability, errors and omissions, professional liability, directors and officers’ liability, property and pollution liability policies. Scott also has experience prosecuting claims against payment and performance bonds. In addition to litigation, he has experience resolving disputes in arbitration, mediation and settlement negotiations.
While in law school, Scott was a legal intern for the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division. He also interned for the Magistrate Judge Deborah A. Robinson with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

- Secured reversal of a pollution liability insurer’s initial denial on a $1.2M lead-exposure claim.
- Asserted $1.5M in construction defect and negligence claims against a subcontractor and obtained coverage under commercial general liability and errors & omissions policies.
- Negotiated the resolution of $3.4M in construction claims for a general contractor while managing multiple bond claimants and successfully defying a surety’s demand for collateral.
- Audited client insurance policies to ensure that coverages complied with contractual obligations.
