Overview
Alexei Brenot is an experienced litigation attorney and handles matters concerning eminent domain, inverse condemnation, real property, construction law, real estate, as well as business and commercial transactions and litigation. He represents clients in all stages of litigation in both Federal and State courts.
Alexei is able to quickly review and analyze a client’s claims or defenses, apply sound legal principals, and formulate a litigation strategy that both maximizes a client’s recovery, while minimizing risks, costs and expenses. He has successfully represented clients in projects relating to public libraries, schools, freeways, redevelopment projects and water services and utility infrastructure projects. His work includes representing both private property owners and public entities in direct takings by eminent domain or involuntary takings by inverse condemnation.
He is experienced with both jury and bench trials, as well as with arbitration and mediation, and is highly qualified in analyzing and resolving issues related to business disputes, pre-condemnation activities, right to take challenges, valuation issues (including highest and best use, severance damages, fixtures and equipment, loss of business goodwill and loss of profits), and the related negotiation, acquisition and relocation associated with industrial, commercial, mixed-use and single and multi-family residential properties.

Experience
County of Stanislaus. Currently part of the team handling eminent domain litigation for the State Route 108/North County Corridor Phase I Project for the construction of a new four-lane expressway, to include new interchange and grade separated structures.
Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Part of the team working on eminent domain litigation for the Link Union Station Project.
Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. Currently part of the team working on eminent domain litigation for the BART Silicon Valley Phase II Project.
California High Speed Rail Authority. Assisting California High Speed Rail Authority on acquisitions for the 80-mile Merced to Fresno segment of the project.
Southern California Edison. Filed and litigated multiple eminent domain actions involving partial takings for its Tehachapi Renewables Transmission Project.
