Nossaman Partner Robert D. Thornton was quoted in the Daily Journal article, "Tribe's Lawsuit Could Delay Major Solar Power Project." The article discusses a recent lawsuit filed by the Quechan Tribe of the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation in an attempt to block one of the nation's largest solar projects, the 6,360-acre Imperial Valley Solar Project.

Mr. Thornton is quoted in the article saying, "When you have cultural resources, that triggers the National Historic Preservation Act, and that imposes various obligations on the federal agencies involved to deal with the tribe."

He went on to say, "We're just now getting the first few major solar project approvals, so we might start seeing more of these types of suits'."
