Nossaman Partner and Land Use Practice Group Chair, Paul Weiland, is quoted in the Daily Journal article, "Tension Simmers in Latest Delta Lawsuits."  The article describes the perspectives and approach of several parties currently involved in lawsuits over the delta smelt.  Measures put into place to protect the endangered fish species are having a major impact on vital water exports from the Sacramento San Joaquin Delta.

"There's never going to be a long-term water supply without a clean and sustainable delta," said Mr. Weiland in the article.  He represents the Coalition for a Sustainable Delta.  The Coalition's goal is to promote ecological sustainability in the delta and a long term water supply.  Mr. Weiland added, "It's not unusual for people who use a resource wanting to protect it."
