Scientists Plead to Save The Longfin Smelt

Nossaman Partner Paul Weiland was featured in local television news coverage on San Francisco bay area ABC affiliate KGO news. The story provided coverage of hearings before the Fish and Game Commission to list the Longfin Smelt as an endangered species. Nossaman represents the Coalition for a Sustainable Delta and successfully argued against the emergency listing of the Longfin Smelt as there is not imminent threat of extinction of the species and listing would add significantly to the challenges already stemming from expected reductions in water exports from the Delta to central and southern California by the Central Valley Project and State Water Project.
