Partnering with Together We Rise to Make a Difference in Children's Lives

As part of our ongoing community service efforts, we recently partnered with Together We Rise to decorate and assemble duffel bags filled with new comfort and hygiene items for children who come to The Reno Initiative for Shelter and Equality's OUR Place, an emergency housing facility for women and families. Our attorneys, policy advisors and administrative management team decorated 225 "Sweet Cases" with encouraging statements and fun images and then filled them with teddy bears, blankets, coloring books, crayons and hygiene kits.

Representatives from Together We Rise provided information on the organization's efforts to improve the lives of children in foster and transitional care, who often find themselves forgotten and neglected. The Sweet Cases we assembled will ensure that children have both essentials and things to make them smile during what is often a difficult transition.
