Nossaman Elevates Partner Class of 2004
SAN FRANCISCO/LOS ANGELES (January 26, 2004) - Nossaman Guthner Knox & Elliott LLP today announced five new partners, bringing to 63 the total number of partners at the firm. This year's class includes San Francisco's Katrina J. Lee and Los Angeles' Kathy K. Emanuel, A. Catherine Norian, Diana S. Parks and Alfred E. Smith.

Kathy K. Emanuel is a member of the Litigation practice group. She works in the Los Angeles office, where her practice specializes in real estate, business and insurance coverage matters. She received her J.D. in 1993 from Loyola Law School. She earned her B.S. at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1990.
Katrina June Lee is a member of the Litigation practice group and works in the firm's San Francisco office. She practices complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on insurance coverage and construction litigation. As part of her commitment to the community, Katrina serves on the Board of Directors of the Bar Association of San Francisco, Self-Help for the Elderly, and the School-to-College program. In 2001, she was honored with the Bar Association of San Francisco's Award of Merit. Katrina received her J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California (1997) and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley (1994).
A. Catherine (Katie) Norian is a member of the firm's Land Use, Environmental, Real Property and Water practice group, as well as the Litigation practice group. Katie works in the Los Angeles office, where she focuses on real property and land use litigation. She earned her J.D. at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1977. Katie received a B.A. from Stanford University in 1970.
Diana S. Parks is a member of the Infrastructure practice group, as well as the Land Use, Environmental, Real Property and Water practice group. Diana works in the Los Angeles office, where she concentrates her practice in the areas of real estate, land use, business transactions and infrastructure. She earned her J.D. at the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1996 with honors. She also holds a B.S., which she completed in 1990, with honors, at George Mason University.
Alfred E. Smith is a member of the firm's Land Use, Environmental, Real Property and Water practice group, as well as the Litigation practice group. Alfred works in the Los Angeles office where he represents public and private clients in water, soil and various other toxic tort and environmental litigation matters. Alfred received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1996 and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned his B.A. in 1993.
In addition to the continued growth within its attorney ranks, Nossaman has seen its gross revenue increase to $59,751,000 (up 13.6% from $52,600,000 in 2002) and profits per partners have reached an all time high of $415,000 (up 12.2% from $370,000 in 2002).
