Mr. Roberts represents the West Point Fire Protection District, which is awaiting a judge's decision on a contested benefit-assessment election. Fire protection has been put on hold for the District during the trial and residents are anxious for the lawsuits to be resolved. Mr. Roberts is quoted as saying that the assessment outcome "was a decision for voters. They decided they wanted 24/7 fire coverage."
