Leveraging National Growth - Nossaman's Land Use and Environmental Practices Thrive
Orange County, CA (July 10, 2008) – Following Nossaman's July 1 merger with O'Connor & Hannan, opportunities abound for the firm's land use and environmental clients. The group of attorneys joining the firm's land use and environmental practices add significant depth in terms of national environmental expertise and legislative and federal agency advocacy in Washington DC.
"Our expanded Washington DC presence allows us to broaden the range of services we can provide our clients," said land use Chair, Paul Weiland. "Through the merger, former congressmen, ex-hill staffers, agency counsel, and Department of Justice litigators have joined Nossaman in DC, building on our practice group's extensive and long standing federal government expertise. By adding counsel who have proven track records working with federal agencies and on the hill we're able to provide new and existing clients with the full array of legal options as they seek to shape or to navigate through the regulatory process."
Nossaman has long had a thriving endangered species practice, but new Partner George Mannina brings an added element to the practice, decades of experience with oceans and fisheries conservation in addition to Clean Water Act expertise. Reed Neuman also rounds out the firm's environmental practice, focusing on contaminated media, hazardous waste, Superfund sites and natural resource damage claims, primarily in the context of serving the pharmaceutical and consumer products industries.
Weiland concluded, "the remarkable thing is how together with our clients we are already identifying and taking advantage of the additional expertise and Washington DC savvy brought by our new attorneys and lobbyists."
