George Joseph Comments on Remote Working Environments, Virtual Office Space
George Joseph spoke with The American Lawyer for their Mid-Market Report, which includes a look at firms that are “next up” for the AmLaw200 list. The discussion focused on how Nossaman leveraged technology during the pandemic to continue to serve clients and position the firm for growth.
“Thanks to the success of the remote working environment at the firm, virtual expansion has become a possibility,” George said. “We’ve engaged in preliminary discussions with laterals in new markets where it would make sense for us to have a presence but not necessarily a physical office…We already had a handful of attorneys working remotely, well before the pandemic hit, so the concept is not new to us. It’s an expansion option that we are comfortable pursuing.”
George added that Nossaman was able continue working seamlessly with clients—in a virtual environment—during the pandemic. “The pandemic taught the firm it can successfully work with clients in a fully remote environment…and [we are working on] developing enhanced client portals, and leveraging artificial intelligence and legal project management to maximize what the firm can offer [clients].”
