Chris Carney Comments on Success of Virtual DNC
Chris Carney was quoted in The Hill article, “Virtual Convention Format Gains Fan Base On K Street.” The article gauges K Street reactions to the Democratic National Convention's virtual format this year. Sharing his thoughts on the convention, Chris said he was surprised by how impressed he was with the week. “I did not expect to be grabbed, and held, by a four-day long virtual event...Without the trappings of a raucous convention, the proceedings seemed more intimate and relatable — maybe even comforting.”
Chris represented Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District for two terms and was a tenured professor of political science specializing in international relations at Penn State University. Prior to running for Congress, he worked at the Pentagon for four years on strategic analysis of the global terrorist threat, and ran the Department of Defense’s Policy Counterterrorism Evaluation Group (PCTEG) and was the “Special Projects” intelligence officer for two tours during Operation Southern Watch. He received a Presidential appointment as a Commissioner on the Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission (MCRMC) and served as a Senior Intelligence Specialist at NAI2O.
