Infrastructure Partner Yukiko Kojima Named to Daily Journal's Top Women Lawyers List
Yukiko Kojima, a Partner in Nossaman’s Infrastructure Practice Group, was recognized as one of the Top Women Lawyers in California for 2018 by The Daily Journal, California’s leading legal newspaper. The Top Women Lawyers supplement annually recognizes female lawyers whose work has had an impact in the state and nationally. The Daily Journal noted that Ms. Kojima advised on several cutting edge P3 projects over the past year, including the $1.8 billion Great Hall project at the Denver International Airport and the $1.3 billion UC Merced 2020 Campus Expansion project. Speaking of her work on these projects, Ms. Kojima said that, One of the benefits of doing these projects is that you focus on the technical aspects, but then when it is ultimately successful, the project that comes out is really transformative for the entire community or really improves their lives. The Great Hall project, on which Ms. Kojima is advising the city and county of Denver, is a P3 project that includes a complex, multi-faceted upgrade of Denver International Airport’s signature main terminal and the development and management of a new concessions program within the terminal--it reached financial close in December of 2017. The UC Merced 2020, on which Ms. Kojima is advising the University of California Board of Regents, is an availability payment-based P3 and will add approximately 790,000 assignable square feet of new facilities, including student housing, administrative and research space, classrooms and recreational centers and associated infrastructure—it reached financial close in late 2016.
