Nossaman Environmental Partner Rob Thornton was profiled by Law360 in December 2016 after being selected as a Law360 MVP for the Environmental practice area. Mr. Thornton was among a group of five attorneys in the nation recognized as Environmental MVPs by Law360.

The article highlights Mr. Thornton’s work as the lead federal environmental litigation counsel for the Arizona Department of Transportation’s 22 mile, $1.8 billion South Mountain Freeway Project in Phoenix – a project that is critical to mobility in metropolitan Phoenix. In August, the U.S. District Court in Arizona granted summary judgment to the Federal Highway Administration and the ADOT in two lawsuits challenging the federal approvals of the project.

The article also highlights Mr. Thornton’s work in Nossaman’s successful defense of the Kern Water Bank in California -- the largest groundwater storage bank in the nation.

Law360 MVPs are selected annually, and recipients are elite attorneys that have distinguished themselves from their peers by securing hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.
