Paul Weiland, Nossaman Environment Chair, Noted in Law360

Paul Weiland, Chair of Nossaman’s Environment and Land Use Practice Group, was noted as lead counsel for the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish in the  Law360 story FWS Blocked From Releasing Mexican Wolves in New Mexico. The story reported on U.S. District Judge William P. Johnson’s grant of a request for a preliminary injunction by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish in a suit against the U.S. Department of the Interior and the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), which alleges the agencies recently began reintroducing the endangered wolves in the state without first obtaining required approval. Judge Johnson said New Mexico had shown a substantial likelihood of prevailing on the merits of its claims in the suit and had demonstrated it would suffer irreparable injury in the absence of an injunction.  This development was also noted by The Albuquerque Journal, The Associated Press and Greenwire.
