In May of 2018, Nossaman helped our client LA Metro secure approval from the California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA) for a nearly $300 million grant request from the State’s Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program (TIRCP) to complete the extension of the Foothill Gold Line from Glendora to Montclair.  Formal approval for the grant came from the California Transportation Commission.

The Foothill Gold Line was one of several major projects submitted by LA Metro to be awarded grants, which totaled nearly $1.8 billion in awards county-wide from SB1 and the TIRCP.  The Foothill Gold Line was identified as Metro’s top priority for the TIRCP program, resulting in a full grant award to fill the estimated funding gap included in the Construction Authority’s financial plan.  News of this development appeared in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the International Railway Journal, Railway Age, and Mass Transit Magazine.
