Monica M. Lawrence: March 17, 1956 – April 19, 2013
Monica M. Lawrence, a paralegal in the Orange County office of Nossaman LLP with more than 20 years of experience supporting Nossaman's Environment and Land Use Practice Group, passed away on April 19, 2013.
"Monica was a wonderful colleague and a good friend to many of us," said George Joseph, Managing Partner. "She had a warm and generous spirit and a priceless sense of humor, and made our office a better place to be. We will miss her terribly."
Ms. Lawrence had significant and varied experience obtaining and defending local, state, and federal entitlements for public and private projects, including: coastal development permits, Endangered Species take permits, Clean Water Act certifications (401 Army Corps permits), General Plan Amendments, Project Development Agreements, CEQA/NEPA project approvals, and Redevelopment Area agreements.
"The Nossaman family suffered a great loss with the passing of Monica, an outstanding paralegal famous to her colleagues for her skill with regulators, and her uncanny ability to draw order from the chaos of mountains of documents involved in major land use litigation matters," said John Flynn, co-chair of Nossaman's Environment & Land Use Practice Group. "More importantly, she was loved for her extraordinary sense of humor, and for the friendship she always managed to add to all her working relationships. She was our friend and co-worker for nearly 25 years, she is gone far too soon, and we miss her very much."
