Top Calif. Verdicts of 2014 – And The Firms That Won Them

Law360 ranked LA County Metropolitan Transportation Authority v. Parsons-Dillingham as one of the top eight California verdicts handed down in the first half of 2014.  Nossaman Partner Tom Long represented MTA in the case.

In February, a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge awarded $93.2 million to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority after a lengthy dispute over the construction management contract for the Metro Red Line subway project, a line that runs from downtown Los Angeles through Hollywood and into the San Fernando Valley.  The court held the Parsons Corp.-Dillingham Construction joint venture liable for excessively billing the MTA for overhead during the construction, more than tripling the judge's $27.7 million tentative judgment in August.
