Nossaman is a "Leading Law Firm" in Infrastructure and Healthcare
Chambers & Partners has named five of the Firm's lawyers and two practices among its 2012 list of leading law firms and lawyers in the United States.
The 2012 edition, published today, recognizes Nossaman in the top-tier of law firms nationally in the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Projects category. From our Infrastructure Practice Group, Partners Patrick Harder and Geoffrey Yarema were selected as leading lawyers in the same category. Linda Morgan, another Partner in the Firm's Infrastructure Practice Group, received accolades in the nationwide Transportation: Rail category. Chambers also recognized Nossaman's Healthcare Practice Group in California and selected Partner Richard Spohn for individual recognition.
The Firm's Infrastructure Practice Group is described in the guide as having "a preeminent reputation as a market leader in the PPP sector" and that the group's reputation "owes much to its unrivaled representation of public authorities in infrastructure projects." A Nossaman client noted that, "They're very professional, knowledgeable, know the market very well. They make it their business to know about our particular sector - they make it their focus."
Geoffrey Yarema, Chair of Nossaman's Infrastructure Practice Group, "is held in high esteem throughout the US PPP community," the editors note. Clients said he is a PPP specialist who "really knows his stuff." Patrick Harder, Co-Chair of the Infrastructure Practice Group, is described as a "reasonable yet strong defender of his client's position" who has a "wealth of practical knowledge." One client said of Mr. Harder, "His innovation and problem-solving skills were why we were able to reach a successful financial close in such a turbulent market." As a notable practitioner in the Transportation: Rail category, Linda Morgan is recognized as "responsive and extremely pleasant to work with." Industry contacts commented, "She can draw upon political and technical legal skills and apply them to a business situation."
Chambers editors say of Nossaman's Healthcare Practice Group, "With an attorney bench containing former state representatives and qualified medical practitioners, Nossaman is able to combine hands-on knowledge of the legislative process and medicine with legal expertise to offer practical solutions to its clients." Richard Spohn, Chair of the Firm's Healthcare Practice Group, is recognized as a "very well respected" healthcare attorney."
Chambers employs a rigorous methodology that sets it apart from other legal guides and lists. By retaining a large dedicated research staff the organization is able to conduct original research. Feedback from interviews with participating firms' clients and other industry leaders provides the basis of their tiered rankings. Chambers recognizes firms and individuals by practice area both nationally and regionally.
