Svend Brandt-Erichsen and Brooke Marcus were co-chairs and spoke during CLE International's 4th Annual MBTA & BGEPA Conference in Denver, CO on January 27-28, 2022. This event explored the complexities of federal wildlife regulation to protect migratory birds and eagles under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act (BGEPA).

Svend and Brooke provided opening remarks to attendees to give them insight into the conference agenda. On January 27th, Brook also presented “Legal Overview of BGEPA, Eagle Regulations and Possible Amendments.” Following this, Svend provided a presentation on “Legal Overview of MBTA, Basic Principles and Evolving Interpretations.” Svend then participated as a panelist during the session “Panel Discussion: Where to Go with Migratory Bird Conservation.”

Additional content included information on federal lands and the evolving trends in federal natural resources law. Attendees were able to reconnect with colleagues and an outstanding group of nationally-recognized experts that represented all points of view in the field throughout the two-day conference.
