2012 Design-Build in Transportation Conference

Evan Caplicki, Corey Boock, and Nancy Smith participated in the 2012 Design-Build in Transportation Conference hosted by the Design-Build Institute of America.

• Evan Caplicki participated in the panel presentation "Lessons Learned Forum" at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27.  At 9:15 a.m.
• Corey Boock presented "P3 ‘201' – Moving Beyond the Basics of Public-Private Partnerships," in which he discussed the different types of P3s in the marketplace, how design-build fits into the P3 model, new players in the projects, and lessons learned and specific issues from the 1st generation of transportation P3.
• Nancy Smith participated in the panel on "Silicon Valley Berryessa Extension – Implementing ‘BART to San Jose' Utilizing Design-Build."  The panel covered the unique considerations for the situation, approaches to development of DB contract documents, addressing 3rd party request and requirements in a complex Design/Build setting, and commercial contract considerations.
