Opening the Doors: CAHP's Annual Conference
Tomorrow has finally arrived. For three and a half years, California and its health plans have prepared to open the doors on the most significant changes to health care in our time - the Affordable Care Act. New insurance market rules, the opening of our state-based Exchange, and Medi-Cal's expansion to uninsured adults dramatically alter the state's healthcare landscape. The most significant changes all take effect January 1, 2014.
CAHP's annual conference again tackles the challenges of making the ACA a success in California. Over the past three conferences, the general sessions and breakouts featured inquiries, analyses, and speculation about ACA implementation. This year CAHP had a line-up of speakers who explained what is happening as we open the door on the ACA, how it impacts health plans and why. Together, the presenters and the audience can better assess the future for California's health care system.
