A Focus on Two Pending Cases: CalFIRE vs. CalPERS and Wilmot v. CCCERA

Ashley Dunning presented "A Focus on Two Pending Cases: CalFIRE vs. CalPERS and Wilmot v. CCCERA" during the 2019 CALAPRS' Administrators' Roundtable on January 25, 2019 in Burbank, CA. 

During her presentation, Ashley provided a brief overview of the five vested rights cases that the California Supreme Court has accepted for review, examining in greater detail the first case to be heard, CalFIRE vs. CalPERS, and a sixth case with a petition for Supreme Court review pending, Wilmot v. CCCERA. In particular, Ashley discussed the California Supreme Court’s questioning of counsel during oral argument in CalFIRE and assessed how it illuminated possible outcomes in the case.
