Strategies to Modernize Energy, Water & Other Utilities
Elizabeth Cousins and Corey Boock participated in the P3 Electrified Summit held September 21-22, 2023 in San Diego, CA.
Corey discussed why there are certain business considerations that a government must review before starting the P3 process during “Why Do a P3? Building the Business Case for P3 and Selling It to the Community.” This panel covered the elements that should be considered as the public builds out the business case for a P3. In addition, panelists shared ways to effectively communicate the business case to the community at large.
Elizabeth served as a panelist during “Is Green Power the Future of Clean Water? Lessons Learned from Current California Biogas Projects.” An increasing number of water purification projects are not satisfied with simply providing additional water, but are also attempting to make the purification process more efficient and environmentally friendly with the utilization of and sale of biogas. Elizabeth and her fellow panelists explored sustainability and regulatory issues, co-digestion enhancements, government incentives and other drivers for Biogas projects, while also sharing lessons learned from current case-studies in California.
