Thomas Dover and Jill Jaffe presented "Devices, Data, and Privacy: Legal Concerns, Risks, and Best Practices" during the 2018 California Special Districts Association Annual Conference & Exhibitor Showcase September 24-27, 2018 in Indian Wells, CA.
During their presentation, Thomas and Jill discussed the evolving landscape of privacy and data security issues as well as some best practices for organizations to employ. They also explored:
- New regulations, including the EU GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018;
- Employee v. consumer privacy issues;
- Data security concerns related to mobile devices and cloud storage solutions; and
- Social media – concerns for employees and organizations.
