Associate | Litigation (San Francisco or Los Angeles)

We are seeking a litigation associate with 2-4 years of experience to work on a wide variety of litigation matters on behalf of our public agency clients. Nossaman represents public agencies including cities, counties, transit agencies and departments of transportation, water districts and public pension plans. Nossaman defends our public agency clients and brings litigation actions as a plaintiff on behalf of our public agency clients. In so doing, Nossaman is involved in cutting edge and novel disputes regarding environmental rules and regulations, water law, the Brown Act and Public Records Act, construction claims and large infrastructure projects, real estate issues, public procurement challenges, breach of contract claims and constitutional issues.

This role can be based in our San Francisco or Los Angeles offices. Qualified candidates will have excellent research skills and experience drafting and responding to written discovery, pleadings, briefs and motions in state and federal court. eDiscovery and some deposition experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple projects efficiently, work well as part of a team and be willing to take ownership of significant projects. Admission to the State Bar of California is required.

The salary range for the position of 2-4 Year Associate at Nossaman is $175,000 to $195,000 annually. The successful candidate’s salary for this position is reasonably expected to be set within this range; however, actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including, without limitation, the candidate’s qualifications and experience. 

Annual Billable Hours Expectation: 1,850 (which includes up to 100 hours of approved pro bono work).
