Associate | Healthcare (Orange County or Los Angeles)

We are seeking a highly motivated associate with 7-10 years of experience advising hospital medical staffs and other peer review bodies. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the quality of patient care by providing strategic legal counsel on a wide range of healthcare matters. Responsibilities will include representing medical staffs in peer review hearings, including conducting witness interviews, drafting briefs and presenting arguments; advising medical staffs on regulatory and accreditation compliance, including the application of peer review statutes, Medicare Conditions of Participation and Joint Commission standards; drafting and reviewing medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations; conducting legal research and preparing memoranda on complex healthcare law issues; and staying current on emerging healthcare laws and regulations. This role can be based in our Orange County or Los Angeles offices. Qualified candidates will have a strong understanding of peer review statutes, Medicare Conditions of Participation, and Joint Commission standards, and will bring a strong work ethic and a collaborative approach. Admission to the State Bar of California is required.

The salary range for the position of 7-10 Year Associate at Nossaman is $225,000 to $265,000 annually. The successful candidate’s salary for this position is reasonably expected to be set within this range; however, actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including, without limitation, the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Annual Billable Hours Expectation: 1,850 (which includes up to 100 hours of approved pro bono work).
