Nossaman Names New Assistant Managing Partner, Elevates Two Attorneys to Partnership

LOS ANGELES (March 16, 2011) – Nossaman LLP announced today that Kenneth S. Kramer, chair of the Real Estate Practice Group, has been named assistant managing partner of the Firm.  Mr. Kramer resides in the Firm's Orange County office.  Additionally, Edmund "Evan" V. Caplicki III and Danielle Sveska Gensch have been promoted to partner in the Firm's Los Angeles and San Francisco offices, respectively.

"As leader of the Real Estate Practice Group, Ken has demonstrated a strong understanding of the business side of the law and is an important member of the firm-wide management team," said Nossaman managing partner Michael Heumann.  "He has a very good sense of how to work constructively, collegially, and effectively, and we know he will bring that same philosophy to his role as assistant managing partner."

Mr. Kramer will also serve as chair of the Firm's finance committee.  He has more than 25 years of experience as a real estate attorney and his national practice involves advising developers and investors on a full spectrum of office, industrial, and retail property and portfolio transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, financing, joint ventures, and workouts and distressed transactions.

Nossaman's newest partners enhance the Firm's capabilities in its Infrastructure and Real EstatePractice Groups.

"Evan and Danielle have each made significant contributions to Nossaman as associates, and their elevation to partnership is a reflection of their hard work and commitment to getting results for clients," Mr. Heumann said.

Mr. Caplicki is a member of the Firm's Infrastructure Practice Group, focusing on public contract and construction law.  His experience includes advising owners regarding project delivery options, procurement, and contracting for large infrastructure projects.  Mr. Caplicki has represented owners, contractors and subcontractors in a wide variety of matters involving both public and private construction projects.  His work has included contract preparation and administration, as well as claims presentation and defense.  He received his J.D. degree from Willamette University College of Law and holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  Mr. Caplicki also completed a certificate program in construction management at the University of Washington.

Ms. Gensch's practice focuses on real estate and land use issues.  She represents public agencies, pension funds, corporate entities, and developers in a variety of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and loan transactions.  Ms. Gensch has extensive experience in complex transaction and portfolio due diligence matters, including review of entitlements.  She has also represented developers and public agencies in a variety of public/private real estate financing programs, including low-income housing tax credits, tax increment financing, and property tax abatements.  She received her J.D. degree, cum laude, from University of Michigan Law School and a B.S. degree from Cornell University, with distinction.
