Nossaman Expands Employment Practice with Trio of Attorneys in Orange County

Irvine — Nossaman LLP announced today the addition of two Partners and one Of Counsel to its Employment Practice Group in Orange County, California, as part of an initiative to expand the Firm’s national profile in the employment field and class action litigation. Drew Hansen, Roy Silva and Seth Goldstein join from Theodora Oringher PC, with all three having practiced at other national firms in the past. Drew and Roy will become the new co-chairs of Nossaman’s Employment Practice Group with the goal of expanding the Firm’s employment law presence and capabilities nationally, including in California, Washington, and Texas. Drew will also chair the Firm’s Trucking, Logistics, & Warehouse Industry Practice Group.
 
Drew, Roy and Seth work closely together, representing companies in a diverse range of industries, handling nearly every type of employment litigation, including wage and hour class actions, PAGA claims, and individual employment disputes, as well as other types of complex commercial lawsuits and unfair business practice claims.

About the Attorneys
 
Drew Hansen joins as a Partner and will serve as Co-Chair of Nossaman's Employment Practice Group and Chair of the Firm's Trucking, Logistics, & Warehouse Industry Practice Group. Drew is an employment lawyer and business litigator specializing in defending companies against wage and hour class actions, PAGA claims, individual employment disputes, complex commercial lawsuits, and unfair business practice claims. He has successfully resolved dozens of wage and hour class action lawsuits and other types of class action claims for a wide variety of companies, including successfully defending numerous trucking and logistics companies, financial institutions, and technology companies. Drew holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a B.S. from the University of Utah. He also played Division I basketball and was a co-captain and starter on the University of Utah’s Runner-Up National Championship Team in 1998.   
 
Roy Silva joins as a Partner and will serve as Co-Chair of Nossaman’s Employment Practice Group. He has a unique practice within the Firm as a Discovery Referee/Special Master. In this capacity, Roy attends depositions and rules on objections, approves and enforces the terms of Protective Orders, oversees the briefing of discovery motions, holds hearings on those motions and issues written rulings, conducts reviews of documents alleged to be privileged, and performs other tasks as instructed by the Court. Roy's substantive areas of expertise include mortgage banking/lender liability, employment counseling and litigation, and appellate litigation. He represents clients in regulated industries throughout California. Roy earned his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and a B.A. from Brigham Young University, cum laude.
 
Seth Goldstein joins as Of Counsel. He brings to Nossaman a practice focused on the representation of employers, particularly those in the transportation industry, with an emphasis on the defense of class and collective actions and other complex matters. He has handled matters involving the attempted reclassification of independent contractors, and allegations of wage/hour violations and misuse of credit and other investigative reports in hiring practices. Seth also has substantial experience in representing financial institutions. He has defended consumer class actions and other complex matters brought against financial service providers in connection with lending and retail banking operations. Seth holds a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, an M.A. from the University of Rochester and a B.A. from Stanford University.
