Nossaman partners Janice Mock and Kurt Melchior were quoted in the Daily Journal article "Lessons Learned from Prop. 8 Appeal."  The article about Monday's 9th Circuit Court hearing on same-sex marriage in California chronicled reaction from attendees at a CLE event hosted in Nossaman's San Francisco office, in conjunction with the Bar Association of San Francisco.

During the event, Ms. Mock provided background on the legal issues being argued in the case and led a discussion following the oral argument. The article quotes Ms. Mock's response to the tough questioning of proponents of Prop. 8. "'Note to self,' she joked to the assembled lawyers: 'Don't go to the Court of Appeals not knowing what your client's job is or where she is.'"

Mr. Melchior was quoted about the arguments presented against the proposition, noting of litigator Theodore Olson "He's the best presenter of an appellate argument I've ever heard."

"That was a perfect presentation," Mr. Melchior went on to say.
