Nossaman's Infrastructure Practice Group was profiled in Law360 as a result of being named a "Transportation Practice Group of the Year" for  2016. The article highlights the Group’s "reputation as a top adviser for public agencies undertaking major transportation infrastructure projects in 2016, with its efforts on behalf of Maryland's $2 billion Purple Line and Arizona’s $1 billion South Mountain Freeway placing the firm among Law360's Transportation Groups of the Year for the second year in a row.
 
The article also mentions the Group’s leading role in applying the P3 model to transit projects, and points to how the Group made headway by overseeing the commercial close and financial close for Maryland’s Purple Line light rail project on behalf of the Maryland Department of Transportation…the first P3 in the state. 
 
Additionally, the article examines the Firm’s representation of the City of Miami Beach regarding to develop a P3 street car line. Patrick Harder, Chair of the Infrastructure Practice Group commented that in the rail sector What we end up seeing…for P3s is more deals that don’t transfer revenue risk.
 
The article explores several more of the blockbuster road projects that the Group is involved in—including the 22-mile South Mountain Freeway in the Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area, the first highway project under the state’s P3 statute. Lastly, the Law360 piece  examines the work the Group is doing with some of the country’s largest airports—including advising the city of Los Angeles and Los Angeles World Airports on a $7 billion program to ease access in and out of Los Angeles International Airport with the construction of consolidated rent-a-car facility and an elevated 2.5-mile people-mover and representing the Denver International Airport in its effort to repurpose that airport’s great hall and shift Transportation Security Administration screening areas to a new location.
