Nossaman would like to congratulate the University of California Board of Regents for the UC Merced 2020 Project’s recognition as the Americas P3 Deal of the Year by  Thomson Reuters’ Project Finance International (PFI) Awards.
The PFI Awards are part of the Thomson Reuters Awards for Excellence, which recognize corporate and individual success in the global financial industry. Awards were presented at the 2017 PFI Awards Dinner, which took place in London  on February 1, 2017

A Nossaman team, led by Patrick Harder and Yukiko Kojima, advised the University of California  Board of Regents on the innovative, $1.3 billion project--which reached  commercial and financial close in 2016.  The project, procured as an availability payment-based P3, will add approximately 790,000 assignable square feet of new facilities, including student housing, administrative and research space, classrooms and recreational centers and associated infrastructure.  As the first university campus expansion in the United States to be undertaken using the P3 availability payment model, the closely watched project is expected to serve as a template for other colleges seeking to expand or rehabilitate their campuses.
