Robert Adler’s article, The Conspiracy And FBAR Charges Against Manafort, Gates, was published in Law360 on November 17, 2017.  In the article, Bob discusses the nine counts in the indictment brought by special counsel Robert Mueller against Paul J. Manafort Jr., and the eight counts he filed against Richard W. Gates.  He explains the asserted factual and legal basis for the conspiracy and FBAR charges in the indictment as well as possible defenses to the FBAR charges.

Bob highlights that, based on the factual allegations in the indictment, tax fraud charges could have been levelled against Manafort and Gates; and, bank fraud charges could have been brought against Manafort.  For some unexplained reason, they were not.
