TRB's 55th Annual Workshop on Transportation Law

Tuesday, July 19, 2016
Mayflower Hotel | Washington, DC

The Transportation Research Board (TRB) will host their 55th Annual Workshop on Transportation Law on July 17-20, 2016 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC.  This program attracts 150 to 175 lawyers, engineers, and transportation planners from across the country.  The workshop provides a forum for federal, state, and local highway and transit organizations to exchange problems and propose solutions.  Workshop participants present unusual cases and identify potential legal problems before they become widespread predicaments.

This year's workshop will feature several presentations by Nossaman attorneys across different practices.  On July 19, Edward Kussy will speak on a panel on "Recovering Fair Market Value from 'Utilities' Seeking Longitudinal Occupation of Limited Access Facilities" from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.  From 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., Nancy Smith will moderate "Design-Build Issues: Liability for Design Defects and for Delays in Property Acquisition," a panel that Rick Rayl will also speak on.

On July 20, Mr. Kussy will participate in two more panels.  From 8:00 to 9:30 a.m., he is a co-panelist on "Diversity and Discrimination: 'What's Up in Civil Rights Enforcement?'"  From 9:45 to 11:15 a.m., he will moderate the panel on "Ethics Chaos: Three Ethics Traps Controversies and Perils, and How to Avoid Them."
