Infrastructure Team Featured for I-75 Work with MDOT

A Nossaman Infrastructure team—led by Infrastructure Partner Corey Boock, and including Partners Barney Allison, Elizabeth Cousins, and Simon Santiago and Associate Shant Boyajian—was featured in the Daily Journal’s Dealmakers column for its work on the I-75 project.  The column noted that the team served as the commercial adviser to the Michigan Department of Transportation on the financial close of the $1.45 billion project and that the team assisted with structuring the procurement, drafting and negotiation of the procurement and contract documents along with developing the evaluation and selection processes. 

The article highlighted that the I-75 project will add a lane in each direction on the highway and include construction of a major underground stormwater tunnel.  The reconstruction and modernization works are the first major upgrades to be done on the highway since it was built in the 1960s.  The project is MDOT’s first highway P3 and is a 30-year DBFOM (availability payment) concession with a capital cost of $600+ million.  Nossaman (Corey Boock and Liz Cousins) previously advised MDOT on its first P3, 2015’s successful Freeway Lighting Project, a 15-year availability payment concession.
