Nossaman Associate Amber Maltbie was mentioned in The Sacramento Bee article "FPPC targets Mayor Johnson, former City Council candidate" regarding fines recommended by the Fair Fair Political Practices Commission against Mayor Johnson and former City Council candidate Joe Yee.

According to the FPPC, Mr. Yee did not report paying full rent for his campaign office space after an investigation found that the fair market value of the office was $600 more per month than Mr. Yee had paid.  The agency said that by paying below market value, Mr. Yee accepted an unreported donation of $2,100 for the 2012 election cycle, which exceeds the city's campaign limits.  The complaint also alleges that Mr. Yee failed to timely disclose the occupations and employers for 60 contributors to his campaign.

The article noted that the complaint against Mr. Yee was filed by Ms. Maltbie.
