Nossaman Partner Robert Thornton was quoted in the Law360 article "Calif. High Court Denies Attempt To Halt Expo Line Extension."  On Monday, August 5, 2013, the California Supreme Court denied an attempt by Neighbors for Smart Rail to stop the Exposition Construction Authority's extension of the Expo Line, a light rail project that will run from Culver City to Santa Monica and begin operating in 2015.  The goal of Expo Phase 2 is to provide high-capacity transit service accommodating population and employment growth on the Westside of Los Angeles and in Santa Monica.  The Court's decision allows construction of the project to continue on schedule.

Mr. Thorton, who is representing the Expo Authority, stated, "It's going to mean that the project will remain on schedule and provide important transportational alternatives for people living in Los Angeles."
